Why?

The purpose of this blog is to present educators with information to help all students learn by bridging the gap between research and practice. Too often, the knowledge that scholars produce that may have a real influence on student learning never makes its way to practitioners who don't remain engaged in reading the contemporary academic literature. Other times, practitioners are quick to jump on the bandwagon of those "research based" programs that supposedly are on the cutting edge of learning, without a solid understanding of whether the claims have any merit. Hopefully, this blog will help practitioners become more familiar with research findings that may improve student learning, while also delicately pointing out why some research based solutions, programs, or ideas don't really have much to offer.
